Hi my name is Barbara and I am the designer maker at Maison de Cantern. Having a love of vintage fashion, especially from the 1920s, 30s and 40s, when a hat or evening hair clasp were considered essential to complete your outfit, my unique designs are inspired by the past but with a new twist, and therefore complement both vintage and modern styling. I adore both the whimsical and the beautiful and love to use materials I have collected over the years, like beads and buttons from ‘mom’s button box’, and blend them with new fabric, feathers, lace and anything else I can ‘acquire’ that catches my eye. I design and create my hats & craft items in the beautiful county of Shropshire. My hope is that you will derive as much pleasure from wearing one of my hats or owning one of my craft items ,as I do from creating them.
